ISNA BEGINS ‘WEEKEND OF TWINNING’ WITH JEWISH INTERFAITH PARTNERS
‘Weekend of Twinning’ Highlights YouTube Public Service Announcement
(Washington D.C., 11/22/08) The Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) today announced the beginning of the ‘Weekend of Twinning’; co-sponsored by the Foundation of Ethnic Understanding. This weekend brings together 50 mosques and 50 synagogues and representing over 100,000 Muslims and Jews for the purpose of confronting Islamophobia and anti-Semitism.
On November 21 – 23, 2008, mosques and synagogues from New York to California to Florida– will be “twinned” together and will host discussion panels, workgroups, forums and other joint events to discuss combating intolerance and hatred.
Additionally, the Foundation for Ethnic Understanding has also launched a YouTube channel featuring the television Public Service Announcement (PSA) condemning Islamophobia and anti-Semitism.

In a statement, ISNA said: “As ISNA begins the Weekend of Twinning with our Jewish interfaith partners from around the country, we are hopeful that Muslim and Jewish communities around the nation continue the effort to ensure dialogue between people of all faiths.”
The Weekend of Twinning is co-sponsored by the Foundation of Ethic Understanding, Islamic Society of North America, World Jewish Congress and Muslim Public Affairs Council.
